Consumers have a growing interest in the way that food animals are raised and veterinarians play a key role in maintaining the quality of food-production livestock. I start with an intriguing question: “Can a teenager have an impact on the supply side of food safety?” I then summarize key facts of the Ten Good Production Practices from the PQA Plus Certification Manual to increase the consumer’s awareness of the proactive stance of the pork industry and the key role that veterinarians play in herd health and food safety. I built an electronic quiz board using a simple series of circuits to grab the attention of my audience.
