For my project I made a teaching tool—a board game. The purpose is to teach fun facts and proper care for dogs. The game is mounted on a poster for display.

Science Beyond the Trophy - Dairy Judging 101
I have used this teaching aid in order to more accurately teach both the new and experiences members of my dairy judging team. I broke down the newly revised unified scorecard and explained the categories, terminology, and the reasons why understanding the strengths and weaknesses of a dairy cow are so important.
My poster is about Canine Masticatory Muscle Myositis which is an inflammatory condition involving the muscles of mastication. I also included the diagnosis, possible symptoms, treatment & prevention options, and also the possible complications/prognosis.
My project was made to inform dog owners about heartworms and how serious it is. I’ve shown various preventions and the benefits of them. I also gave information about testing, treatment and prevention.
Miracle of Birth
My poster was designed to inform the public about the process of calving. It shows diagrams and has a brief description of the diagrams. Also included are birthing facts, abnormal birth position, and personal photos.
This is a teaching aid. The poster can be used with young elementary children to teach the importance of nutrition and exercise for their pet.

My poster explained several reasons why a dog can become overweight. I explained issues with feeding dogs, exercise, surgeries, breed tendencies leading to weight gain and medications affection metabolism. I also mention several effects of obesity.
What’s Cracking?: Eggshell Strength Comparison
I tested eggshell strength (based on consistency in size, shape, texture, thickness, and cracking pressure) on my Farm Fresh Fritchley Eggs vs. store bought white eggs vs. Store bought organic brown eggs.

My poster provides information on a variety of common swine diseases. The poster includes a crossword puzzle to test the viewers of their knowledge on swine diseases and a 5-page report covering the poster.

Pork Quality Assurance: It’s My Promise to YOU, the consumer
Consumers have a growing interest in the way that food animals are raised and veterinarians play a key role in maintaining the quality of food-production livestock. I start with an intriguing question: “Can a teenager have an impact on the supply side of food safety?” I then summarize key facts of the Ten Good Production Practices from the PQA Plus Certification Manual to increase the consumer’s awareness of the proactive stance of the pork industry and the key role that veterinarians play in herd health and food safety. I built an electronic quiz board using a simple series of circuits to grab the attention of my audience.

My veterinarian (Dr. Chris Rumsey) did a necropsy on a goat doeling which I found dead at morning feeding. I watched him and helped him come to the conclusion that she was struck by lightening.
