Collection Information
BOVINE
Samples may be submitted in a sterile container with no additive or in the InPouch culture system (BioMed Diagnostics). If samples are submitted in the InPouch, inoculate the pouch per instructions supplied. If requesting T. foetus culture and PCR, please submit samples in two separate pouches. DO NOT REFRIGERATE OR FREEZE AFTER COLLECTION.
FELINE
Collect feces in a leak-proof container (sealable plastic bag or jar - do NOT submit in gloves). Collect feces that is free of debris and bedding.
Shipping Information
LEAKS - Ensure all samples are in leak proof packages and clearly labeled with Tissue Type/Animal ID/Owner Name. Include absorptive material to collect any leaks - double bag any fresh tissues.
PAPERWORK - Package paperwork separately in a waterproof, sealable plastic bag. Ensure paperwork is complete and specimens are labeled for easily matching. If you are using CF.755 Multiple Animal Continuation Form, please include a hard copy and email a copy to addl@purdue.edu.
FECES - Ensure container is securely sealed. Double bag all diarrhea samples to contain any leaks.

Additional Information
Inoculated InPouch TF - Ship overnight at ambient temperature (65-95F) within 24 hours of collection. Do not ship with cold packs.Washes/Feces - Ship overnight in an insulated shipper with ice packs (pack absorptive material to collect moisture).
Pooling - BOVINE ONLY Pooling is available for up to five samples originating from the same owner and farm. Each sample should be submitted individually, and pooling will occur at ADDL. Please ensure that pooled results are accepted if testing is being conducted for regulatory/movement purposes.
