Careers at the Indiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory
The Indiana Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL), with locations in West Lafayette and Southern Indiana at the Heeke Laboratory, is focused on helping Indiana veterinarians, animal health officials, livestock producers, and animal owners in protecting the health of the animal population by providing prompt, accurate, and reliable diagnoses of animal diseases, including those that may affect the human population.

Residency
The ADDL offers multiple veterinary residency programs:
- Anatomical Pathology
- Poultry Diagnostic Medicine

Necropsy Internships
The ADDL accepts veterinary students from other universities to complete their necropsy requirements and additional training for veterinary students considering a career in veterinary pathology. Interested veterinary students are asked to contact Dr. Nobuko Wakamatsu-Utsuki (nutsuki@purdue.edu) to inquiry about opportunities at the ADDL

Summer Research Opportunities
Undergraduate students associated with a summer research program who are seeking a mentored research opportunity are encouraged to contact us about opportunities with the ADDL.
We provide prompt, accurate, and reliable diagnoses of animal diseases, including those that may affect the human population. We are the official animal diagnostic laboratory for the state of Indiana. Every day we help veterinarians, animal health officials, livestock producers, and pet owners protect the health of the animal population.
