Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine treats over 1400 horses each year, and we are proud to celebrate our impact on the health of equine athletes. With implications beyond equine health, research veterinarians at Purdue University are digging deep into the root causes of wide-spread asthma in horses.
In this interview, Dr. Laurent Couetil provides an update on the latest information concerning the most common chronic respiratory diseases of horses: Equine Asthma. This syndrome encompasses a range of conditions previously known as heaves or RAO for the more severe form to inflammatory airway disease for the milder version.
