Dr. EXOTICA
Dr. Todd Driggers

My Story
I chose a career in the veterinary profession because of my compassion for animals and people both. My father fought Pitbulls when I was a child, and feeling helpless to change his behavior, I focused on loving my dogs after their fights and treating their wounds. I have always loved nature and wildlife and used being in nature to help heal me from my sorrow.
My Struggles
I struggled with the confidence in belonging and believing I had what it took to become a veterinarian.

My Heroes
Dr. Bruce Chaille, a veterinarian who helped mold me into a person that understood the world a little better. As a white and underprivileged child with a father that was racist, I rejected my father’s ideas and embraced learning, loving, and experiencing diversity.
My Typical Day
As an exotic animal practitioner, every day provides me new opportunities to learn and grow from a client and patient perspective.

My Stressors
Running a business is always a little stressful. I manage my stress by exercise, walks in nature, and by trying to practice random acts of kindness.
My Why
I love trying to imagine the life of the animal/pet through their eyes.
