Training Opportunity

Vet Med ROCKS camp
Vet Med ROCKS (Recruitment and Outreach Club of Kansas State) is a student run camp provided for Grade, Middle, and High school aged students as well as Pre-Vet undergraduate students. Vet Med ROCKS offers 3-5 full tuition scholarships for these camps. Campers fill out a scholarship application and a Scholarship Committee awards the full camp scholarships. Summer 2020, Vet Med ROCKS created a virtual camp and hosted the camp on Facebook. Camp included presentations by students and faculty as well as multiple hands-on activities throughout the day. Campers uploaded photos of their projects and 5 prizes were awarded each day. This was a free, virtual camp. Both Grade/Middle and High school/College days were offered. Over all age groups, we had 500 campers attend camp. Campers for the virtual camp were from all over the country and allowed Vet Med ROCKS to continue to build the pipeline of young students interested in veterinary medicine.
