Counseling and Wellness Services (CWS) promotes students’ emotional well-being, academic success, and healthy relationships through culturally-responsive care.

Eligibility: Counseling and therapy services are provided to students within the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine and IU Medical Students on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus.

To make a counseling appointment, email pvmwellbeing@purdue.edu with your availability. The more options you provide, the sooner we may be able to find a time which matches our schedule. Please note our office is not open on weekends or University holidays.

Crisis Support

For life threatening emergencies, always call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.

For crisis situations, we offer walk-in hours from 12:30-1:30 pm Monday-Friday. For support outside of these hours, see below.

For crisis consultation with a mental health professional at any time of day, Purdue students may also reach CAPS at 765-494-6995 (option “1” after hours). Please see the Crisis Support page for more information.

Wellness Resources

PVM Faculty/Staff Support

Benefits-eligible faculty and staff are provided brief, no-cost counseling and referral services through the Center for Healthy Living. A range of additional mental health support resources are provided through SupportLinc. For virtual counseling and psychiatry service options covered by Purdue employee insurance, please see LiveHealth Online. Faculty and staff also have access to Therapy Assistance Online (TAO), which is a self-help program aimed at developing skills to improve well-being.  Lastly, the Mental Health Resources webpage provides a variety of helpful information.
