Training in how to handle large animal emergency situations is the focus of a two day course that will be hosted by the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine next month. The awareness level Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue (TLAER) program will be held May 18-19.

The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine formalized a year-plus-long partnership between the college and the Lafayette School Corporation to support students at Miller Elementary School with a new 5-year commitment to combine superpowers and enrich student STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) learning through veterinary science lessons.

The Purdue University Veterinary Hospital’s Medical Oncology Service to host Ultrasound Screenings, focusing on early detection and intervention for dog breeds at increased risk of bladder cancer. Targeting Scottish Terriers, West Highland Terriers, Beagles, and Shetland Sheepdogs, the screenings aim to utilize non-invasive ultrasound technology to identify potential urinary system abnormalities, including tumors.

The Purdue Veterinary Medicine Community is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Craig Alan Hunt, of Fishers, Indiana, who died Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at his home. He was 54 years old.
