Shipping Information
If shipping different tissue types, clearly label each container with owner and animal ID (if applicable) and sample/tissue type. Ship specimens overnight with an ice pack. DO NOT SHIP OVER WEEKEND OR HOLIDAY.
Additional Information
Salmonella isolates can be serogrouped at ADDL, then sent to NVSL for serotyping.Starting July 1, 2023, clients must select how positive Salmonella cultures will be further handled - Serogrouping and/or Serotyping. At least one option must be chosen.
Serogrouping will list the Group of Salmonella for that isolate. This test is performed at ADDL and costs $24.00. Results are completed within 2-5 business days.
Serotyping is performed at NVSL for no charge. Serotyping provides the full identification of the Salmonella isolate. Serogrouping is not required if Serotyping is performed. Serotyping can take 4-8 weeks for results to be completed.
