Collect blood in a tube containing an anticoagulant (e.g. EDTA, heparin, etc.). If less than 2 ml is collected, please contact the Toxicology Section for options).
If shipping different sample/tissue types, clearly label each container with owner and animal ID (if applicable) and sample/tissue type. Ship specimens overnight with an ice pack. If a test using serum/plasma is also needed (e.g. Trace Minerals, Serum, or vitamin E, etc.), Refrigerate, Do Not Freeze. DO NOT SHIP OVER WEEKENDS OR HOLIDAYS.
