Virtual Purdue Homecoming for 2020 Includes Spotlight on PVM

Giant Leaps @ Home is the theme of Purdue University’s 2020 Virtual Homecoming next week, November 9-14, which will include virtual activities that shine the spotlight on Purdue Veterinary Medicine. Among the week’s daily features will be a special message from Dean Willie Reed Thursday, November 12 at 12:40 p.m.

Each day, the College of Veterinary Medicine will host a virtual booth from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., with practical tips for pet owners, horse enthusiasts, and 4-H farm animal exhibitors.  Additionally, a livestream Monday through Friday from 12:00–1:00 p.m. will feature updates from university administration, performances by campus favorites, and appearances by special guests. Click here to view a schedule of special offerings planned for the week.

Also check-out the Homecoming website’s Reunions and Registered Events page to see additional plans for the virtual Homecoming celebration.  Activities and programs can be accessed on the website, including opportunities to compete for prizes in an online scavenger hunt and much, much more!

The virtual Homecoming enables the university to continue its longstanding homecoming tradition in a way that is in keeping with the Protect Purdue Plan, Purdue’s comprehensive strategy to keep campus safe by limiting the spread of COVID-19.  The 2020 Homecoming will forgo in-person gatherings and instead offer the Purdue family around the globe an array of virtual programming that celebrates the university’s storied history and the traditions, memories, and spirit that bind us together.

Homecoming week will conclude on November 14 with the Purdue game against Northwestern University and recognition of the Homecoming Pillars of Excellency winners. The game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and will be televised on the Big Ten Network. Click here for additional Homecoming details on the Purdue Homecoming Central website.
