Enthusiasm Pervades Purdue Veterinary Medicine Graduation Celebration

Applause, cheers, and waving gold pom-poms greeted members of Purdue Veterinary Medicine’s Class of 2025 as they processed through the Purdue Memorial Union Ballrooms for the start of the College of Veterinary Medicine’s May Graduation Celebration. The event on Saturday, May 17, which followed the university commencement ceremony in the Elliot Hall of Music, attracted a capacity crowd of family, friends and loved ones.


PVM Global Engagement Director Receives Outstanding Leadership in Globalization Award

Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine is making strides far beyond the state of Indiana, thanks in large part to the tremendous efforts of Addison Sheldon, the college’s director of global engagement. Sheldon is a Purdue graduate who joined the PVM Office of Engagement in April of 2021. His contributions were recognized recently when he was selected, along with three other Purdue staff and faculty members, by the university’s Global Academic Committee to receive the 2025 Outstanding Leadership in Globalization Award.


Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine Names New Assistant Dean for Administration

A key administrator in the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine has been appointed to a new leadership role. Leslie Martin, who currently serves as director of financial affairs, will become the assistant dean for administration, effective June 1.

PVM Faculty Member Sarah Waxman, leader of Purdue’s Equestrian Team, honored as Outstanding Advisor of the Year

People in the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine know Dr. Sarah Waxman as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, boarded large animal surgeon and clinician with the Veterinary Hospital’s Equine Field Service. They may not realize she also has played a key role in the success of the Purdue Equestrian Team, for which she serves as advisor.

Sunny Skies and Creative Exhibits Draw Hundreds to Annual PVM Open House

Sunrise on Saturday, April 12, brought the promise of a lovely spring day and large crowds for a beloved spring tradition at Lynn Hall on the Purdue University West Lafayette campus – the annual Purdue Veterinary Medicine Open House. Organized by PVM students, the day-long event is held each year as part of Purdue University’s Spring Fest celebration.


Cat Care, Comfort, and Extra Time

Today we begin a Vet Gazette series about animals and their owners who’ve found help and healing at the Purdue University Veterinary Hospital. Periodically we will share heartwarming tributes from hospital clients who wanted to highlight the vital care and treatment their animal companions received from the hospital’s caring team of clinicians, veterinary nurses, staff and students. The first is the tale of a cat named Gabby.


PVM Puts Best Paw Forward at 2025 Open House Tomorrow

Lynn Hall will undergo a metamorphosis by nightfall tonight (Friday, April 11) as the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine prepares for the annual Open House tomorrow, Saturday, April 12. Planned by PVM students, the annual event will attract people of all ages who want to see animals and learn about animal health and the profession of Veterinary Medicine.


Popular Veterinary Nursing Symposium Features Day of Learning and Networking

Purdue Veterinary Medicine’s annual Veterinary Nursing Symposium brought more than 150 veterinary professionals to Lynn Hall recently to gain practical knowledge and insights about a diverse range of topics covering both small and large animals. Veterinary nurses (technicians and technologists), veterinary assistants and veterinary nursing (technology) students participated in the all day lifelong learning program Sunday, March 23. The attendees came from across Indiana as well as Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
