Purdue Launches New Fundraising Campaign in the Spirit of Purdue’s Famed Fight Song
The words, “Hail Purdue” are more than just familiar to Boilermaker alumni and fans of all ages. They embody true Boilermaker spirit and serve as the rallying cry for Boilers across the globe.
But another phrase that comes from Purdue’s famed fight song has taken on new prominence as the slogan for Purdue’s new fundraising campaign. The words are contained in the first verse and precede the words, “Hail Purdue!” As the lyrics describe “Where the Wabash spreads its valley…” they explain how “…From the skies in swelling echoes Come the cheers that tell the tale Of your vict’ries and your heroes…”
And those words now are reflected in the title of the new Purdue fund-drive: “Victories & Heroes: Your Campaign for Purdue.”
For the College of Veterinary Medicine, the campaign puts the spotlight on opportunities to retain and recruit top faculty; support students through scholarships; expand life-changing research in the college’s signature areas of scientific discovery; and enhance animal health care.
