It’s official – this year’s Purdue United Way Campaign is underway and the College of Veterinary Medicine has set its sights on raising $20,000 toward the University’s collective United Way fundraising goal of $700,000.  “We’re thrilled to share that, thanks to a quick start on giving by members of our college, we’ve already raised $2,212 toward our PVM goal,” said Angela Pickett, PVM executive assistant to the dean and the college’s United Way Champion.  But she adds, “We need your help!”

Pickett emphasized that participating as a supporter is about more than a number.  “It’s a lifeline to our neighbors,” Pickett said.  “Every dollar you give stays local, funding programs and services that strengthen Greater Lafayette and surrounding communities. This year’s theme is ‘Local Giving. Lasting Impact.’ That’s a great reminder that our collective efforts transform lives right here where we live and work.”

Pickett adds that the Purdue United Way Campaign rests on the idea that giving is personal, so peoples’ responses are meaningful, whether they choose to give or to simply indicate that they do not wish to give.  Either response counts in favor of PVM’s participation in the effort.

To respond, simply

  • Click on the link for Purdue United Way
  • Choose “Give Now” or “I Don’t Wish to Give”
  • Log in, using your Purdue career account and authentication
  • If you want to give, select from the options, which include payroll deduction (begins Jan 2026), credit card, or other giving choices.

For instructions to give to your local United Way if you live outside of Greater Lafayette, just contact Angela Pickett.

“Your commitment makes a real difference for families, children, and individuals in need,” Pickett said. “Thank you for being part of this important work.”
