Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine Names New Senior Director of Admissions and Student Success

A key Purdue Veterinary Medicine staff member who has played a vital role in admissions and recruitment will now serve as the new Senior Director of Admissions and Student Success. Lori Stout has been promoted to the position and Dean Bret Marsh announced the appointment Tuesday, August 26.

Stout has worked at Purdue since 2008 when she joined what is now the Mitch Daniels School of Business. She served as graduate programs admissions coordinator and then undergraduate programs technical and project coordinator until 2014 when she accepted the position of director of admissions and recruitment in the College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Marsh said Stout has the necessary experience, expertise and leadership skills to excel as she takes on added responsibilities. “In this new, expanded role, Lori will lead the College’s comprehensive enrollment and student success strategy,” Dean Marsh said. “She will oversee admissions, recruitment, and student support services to ensure a seamless experience from the point at which an application is submitted all the way through to graduation.”

Dr. Marsh added that Stout has compiled an impressive record of success as she has guided the college’s admissions and recruitment efforts. “During her tenure, Lori has transformed the admissions process through data-driven practices, innovative technologies, and strategic recruitment initiatives,” Dean Marsh said. “A recognized leader in the veterinary admissions community, Lori is an active member of the Admissions & Recruitment Committee (ARC) with the American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC). She has also presented nationally on admissions best practices and virtual recruitment strategies and collaborated with peer institutions across the country to strengthen admissions operations.”

Stout said she is excited about this new opportunity because she really wants to be a part of the growth and change that the college currently is experiencing. “With the knowledge and experience that I have working in Admissions and Student Success for the last 11 years, I not only have a valuable historical perspective, but also can lead the way in expanding these areas to ensure that our students, faculty and staff have a positive experience while they are here,” Stout said.

Stout holds a Master of Science in Higher Education from Purdue University Global and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Franklin University. “I’m excited about bringing my knowledge and experience in the areas of Student Success and Admissions to enhance the student experience,” Stout said. “With Admissions and Student Success working together, our goal is to give the students the guidance and support they need from the moment they apply until they walk across the graduation stage. I think with the team that we are building, we can make this an area that students, faculty and staff can turn to for help that will guide them in the right direction.”

PVM Concludes 2024 with Recognition of Service Anniversaries and Award-winning Staff

As 2024 came to a close at Purdue University, the College of Veterinary Medicine continued a long-standing tradition of celebrating staff service anniversaries and recognizing staff and faculty accomplishments at the Staff Service Recognition Ceremony. Held in Lynn 1136 on Wednesday, December 18, the ceremony honored more than 70 PVM personnel.
