In Memory: Dr. Eric David Frazer (PU DVM ’91)

A Purdue Veterinary Medicine alumnus, Dr. Eric David Frazer, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 4. He was 55.

A native of Indianapolis, Dr. Frazer earned his Purdue DVM degree in 1991, and went into private practice in the Indianapolis area.  He practiced both general and emergency veterinary medicine and in 2000, started his own practice, the Hamilton Crossing Animal Hospital in Westfield.  

Dr. Frazer is remembered as a veterinarian who loved every kind of animal from the tiniest reptile to the largest house pet. When asked what he considered the favorite part of his job, he replied that he enjoyed educating people on how their pets could live healthier and better lives. 

Outside of work, Dr. Frazer enjoyed traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach. He also loved cars and had an eclectic collection.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 13, with services immediately following at 7:00 p.m., at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, IN 46062. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, 10501 Hague Road, Fishers, IN 46038; or Community Cats of Hamilton County. Dr. Dianne Little, associate professor of basic medical sciences, is one of four Purdue University faculty members newly named as Showalter Faculty Scholar recipients. Faculty Receive Recognition at Purdue Veterinary Medicine Fall Awards Celebration

The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine celebrated the accomplishments of outstanding faculty at a special Faculty Awards Celebration held in Lynn Hall.  The recognition program Thursday, October 23, featured the presentation of four awards for outstanding teaching and excellence in research and service, as well as a new award named in honor of Dean Emeritus Willie Reed and State Representative Sheila Klinker, that recognizes an exemplary community partnership.

PVM Professor and Interim Department Head Tim Lescun Elected to ACVS Board of Regents

The American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) has announced the results of the election to choose a new president-elect and two new members of the ACVS Board of Regents, and one of the new leaders is Dr. Tim Lescun, BVSc, MS, PhD, DACVS, Purdue Veterinary Medicine professor and interim head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences.
