In Memory: Dr. Eric David Frazer (PU DVM ’91)

A Purdue Veterinary Medicine alumnus, Dr. Eric David Frazer, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 4. He was 55.

A native of Indianapolis, Dr. Frazer earned his Purdue DVM degree in 1991, and went into private practice in the Indianapolis area.  He practiced both general and emergency veterinary medicine and in 2000, started his own practice, the Hamilton Crossing Animal Hospital in Westfield.  

Dr. Frazer is remembered as a veterinarian who loved every kind of animal from the tiniest reptile to the largest house pet. When asked what he considered the favorite part of his job, he replied that he enjoyed educating people on how their pets could live healthier and better lives. 

Outside of work, Dr. Frazer enjoyed traveling, especially to Myrtle Beach. He also loved cars and had an eclectic collection.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 13, with services immediately following at 7:00 p.m., at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, IN 46062. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, 10501 Hague Road, Fishers, IN 46038; or Community Cats of Hamilton County. PVM Collaborates with Indianapolis Zoo to Host Emerging Conservationist Award Winner at Lynn Hall

Purdue veterinary students had a unique chance this week to hear first-hand from one of the world’s leading conservationists who is making a significant impact while still early in his career.  Through a collaborative arrangement with the Indianapolis Zoo, the College of Veterinary Medicine hosted a visit by Mwezi “Badru” Mugerwa, the winner of the 2025 Indianapolis Prize Emerging Conservationist Award, on Monday, September 29, so he could share his message with Purdue DVM students.

Career Fair Connects PVM Students with Future Opportunities

Close to 75 veterinary medical employers, ranging from individual veterinary practices to corporate enterprises, sent representatives to Purdue University for the College of Veterinary Medicine’s annual Career Fair for DVM and Veterinary Technology students. Held in the Purdue Memorial Union Ballrooms Friday afternoon, September 19, the event attracted a strong turnout of students excited to learn about future career opportunities.
