The ongoing challenges posed by multi-drug resistant infections will be the focus of a multidisciplinary conference taking place in three weeks at Purdue University. The Fourth Annual Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance is set for February 25–26, 2026 at Purdue’s Stewart Center in West Lafayette. Registration is still open for the event, which will bring together scientists and scholars from human and veterinary medicine, public health, research, and industry to address the determinants, dynamics and deterrence of drug resistance.

The conference will appeal to a diverse audience including medical and veterinary practitioners, academics, and individuals working in public health, food production, food safety, and biotechnology. The agenda will feature three keynote presentations addressing the different aspects of resistance as well as practical strategies for prevention and stewardship from a One Health perspective. Each keynote will be followed by presentations from three researchers with relevant expertise. Each segment will conclude with a question-and-answer session featuring a panel consisting of all the speakers for that theme.
The conference also will include a poster session highlighting AMR research. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to compete for cash prizes, and poster presenters will receive complimentary conference registration. Poster submissions are still being accepted, but the submission deadline is February 13.
The AMR conference will be offered both in person and virtually, providing an opportunity for registrants to participate regardless of travel limitations or scheduling constraints. The annual event is a collaborative effort of the Purdue Colleges of Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, and Engineering.
With the conference just weeks away, now is the time to finalize plans to attend. Register today, consider submitting a poster, and plan to take advantage of this important exchange of ideas centered on the pressing issues surrounding antimicrobial resistance.
