The Purdue University Board of Trustees has approved the promotion of 163 faculty across the Purdue University system for the 2025-26 academic year, and a total of nine Purdue Veterinary Medicine faculty members are among the 137 promotees from the main campus. In addition, there are 17 newly promoted faculty from Purdue Fort Wayne and nine from Purdue Northwest. The trustees annually approve promotions in April, per the Purdue academic tenure and promotion policy.
The formal approval of the promotions occurred at the Purdue Board of Trustees meeting Friday, April 4. Congratulations to the following College of Veterinary Medicine scholars receiving promotions, effective on the dates listed below:

- Nikolaos Dervisis, associate professor of veterinary clinical sciences – July 1
- Shawna Klahn, associate professor of veterinary clinical sciences – July 1

- Shankar Thangamani, associate professor of comparative pathobiology – August 18
