Senior Equine Surgeon
Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine (PVM) is seeking an experienced equine surgeon with a strong interest in sports medicine for the Purdue University Caesars Entertainment Equine Specialty Hospital (CEESH) in Shelbyville, Indiana. CEESH is a premier performance equine hospital providing specialty referral, medical and surgical services while supporting equine research and education at Purdue University. The hospital, operated by PVM, is an independent facility that models private practice, while collaborating with PVM faculty for optimum patient care in many areas of specialty practice. The hospital is a regional advanced diagnostic and surgical facility located near Indianapolis and in between two racetracks conducting Standardbred, Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing meets. The hospital functions as an integral part of the PVM mission to serve the equine performance horse industry and is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and surgical facilities, including the Qalibra Computed Tomography (CT) system, nuclear medicine, arthroscopy/laparoscopy system, digital radiography, ultrasonography and offers shockwave therapy, regenerative medicine, endoscopic laser surgery and specialized equine orthopedic and soft tissue surgery.

This position could be filled at multiple levels (P4 or P5). The hiring manager will determine the job level based on the skills, experience, and qualifications of the selected candidate.
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
- Two years of experience in a related role
- Board certified with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons or the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation, or similar relevant specialty certification
- Board eligible residents will be considered
- Licensed or license eligible to practice veterinary medicine in Indiana
