Our partnership with the Humane Society for Greater Lafayette represents a meaningful expansion of our commitment to hands-on learning and community-centered care. Through this collaboration, fourth-year veterinary students in the Shelter Medicine/P4P rotation now spend one week of their three-week experience directly at the shelter, working under the supervision of Dr. Jessica Snyder.
While on site, students deliver medical and surgical care to animals in need—contributing valuable support to the shelter while developing clinical skills in a real-world setting. This partnership not only enhances student education but also deepens our connection to the greater Lafayette community. It’s a shared investment in animal welfare, education, and compassionate service.
