A variety of activities are planned next week to recognize Purdue Veterinary Medicine’s veterinary nurses. October 14-20 is Veterinary Nursing Appreciation Week, and first up in the line-up of special events and activities is a pancake breakfast Tuesday, October 16, from 7:45 – 9:00 a.m., in Lynn G155/G119. PVM’s veterinary nurses will be able to enjoy a hearty meal prepared by their colleagues. The event also will include the debut of the Lip Sync Battle Video at 8:15 a.m.

Once again, PVM veterinary nurses can enjoy a pancake breakfast Tuesday, October 16, in honor of Veterinary Nursing Appreciation Week.

On Wednesday, October 17, a Veterinary Nursing Student Lunch and Learn will be held at 12:30 p.m. in G155/G119, sponsored by Noah’s Animal Hospitals.

Afternoon snacks will be served to veterinary nurses on Thursday, October 18, under the stairs in the East Lynn Hall Foyer between 1:30 and 3:00 p.m.

The week of celebration will culminate on Friday, October 19, when other support staff who complete PVM’s veterinary medical team are recognized in their departments. Trays of baked goods will be dropped off for support staff who contribute to the healthcare team as a “pay it forward” thank you from the College’s veterinary nurses and veterinary nursing students.

Additionally, throughout the week, social media posts will highlight PVM’s veterinary nurses who have achieved recognition in the various veterinary technology specialties. Veterinary nurses are creating a “Lip-Sync Battle” between departments that will be shared after it is debuted at the Tuesday pancake breakfast. Veterinary nurses throughout the College also will receive pin-on buttons that say “I’m a Veterinary Nurse. What’s your superpower?”

Next week provides a great opportunity to show appreciation for the College’s veterinary nurses. Remember to use the occasion to share a word of appreciation to the veterinary nurses in our PVM family.
