In Memory: PVM Retiree Curtis Sherwin

Curtis Sherwin, Jr., of Romney, Ind., who served many years in what was then the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Medical Illustration unit, passed away Thursday, January 31, at Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz. He was 71. A U.S. Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War, Curtis worked as a computer/video technician in Medical Illustration until he retired in 2009. He also was an avid amateur radio operator and was a member of the Tippecanoe Amateur Radio Association. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Condolences may be sent to MemoryOfCurt@gmail.com and will be shared with the family. Visitation is scheduled at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette, Ind., Saturday, February 9, from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m., followed by a time of fellowship beginning at 2:45 p.m., at West Lafayette Christian Church, 1980 Lindberg Road, West Lafayette, Ind.  Click here for a complete obituary.

Awards and Presentations Highlight Scholarship of PVM Researchers

The importance of scientific discovery and the research contributions of veterinary students, graduate students, residents, and faculty alike, were recognized during the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine’s annual PVM Research Day this spring. During a day long program in Lynn Hall on April 15, PVM scholars shared research findings during lectures and poster presentations, and were honored with awards.
