The American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) has announced the results of the election to choose a new president-elect and two new members of the ACVS Board of Regents, and one of the new leaders is Dr. Tim Lescun, BVSc, MS, PhD, DACVS, Purdue Veterinary Medicine professor and interim head of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences.

The Purdue Veterinary Medicine community is saddened to learn that Tonya R. Mull of Lafayette, Indiana, who served as a longtime Purdue Libraries staff member, including multiple years as a staff member in the Veterinary Medical Library, passed away October 18 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East. She was 59.

Continuing a long-standing tradition, the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine hosted several celebrations this week, October 13-17, in recognition of National Veterinary Technician Week. A full line-up of events demonstrated the college’s appreciation for the important role that veterinary technicians play as members of the veterinary team.

Togetherness was a focus of an annual tradition hosted recently by the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Department of Comparative Pathobiology. The annual departmental picnic September 20 at West Lafayette’s Happy Hollow Park brought together faculty, staff, students, and their families for an afternoon of connection and celebration.
