"I found this program to be very useful in my better understanding issues surrounding diversity and inclusion. It helped me create a framework to better understand and think about these issues as well as prompted me to become more involved and to see how they can be better incorporated into our profession."

Our Online Certificate Programs are designed for people with demanding schedules. You will complete a combination of distance learning, life experiences, and reflections to build your skill sets. Certificates and Continuing Education credit are available upon completion. To meet the requirements for a certificate, participants will:

  • Complete a series of online modules and pass end of module quizzes with a grade of 80% or more

  • Complete and document 1-3 hours of volunteer community service and submit written reflections about what was learned (Requirements vary by program)

  • Document participation in 2-4 pertinent activities, each lasting at least one hour, and submit written reflections about what was learned from each activity (Requirements vary by program). Activities can include: cultural activities in your community; attendance at a national/regional meeting focused on diversity and inclusion in veterinary medicine [ie. Iverson Bell Symposium, Iverson Bell Regional Summits, Purdue Veterinary Medicine Conference Diversity Workshops]; attendance at a local meeting or lecture focused on diversity and inclusion in veterinary medicine [ie. VOICE Chapter meeting, Broad Spectrum Meeting]

  • Submit a capstone paper (1-2 pages) on how you will use information from the program to strengthen diversity and inclusion in veterinary medicine
