Anesthesia Induction

The Tony Rumschlag DVM, Hella Rumschlag, and Family Anesthesia Induction area has 11 stations, a quiet induction room, and a preparation room. All surgical cases are prepped in this room and then taken to one of the surgery suites. The process of preparing a patient for surgery includes the administration of pre-surgical medications, the induction of anesthesia, clipping fur from the surgical site, and disinfection of the surgical site. The placement of an endotracheal tube makes it possible to provide oxygen and anesthetic gas to maintain anesthesia during the procedure. This is just like what happens when a person is anesthetized for surgery.
