Oncology: cancer chemoprevention, tumor microenvironment modulation of the metastatic phenotype, organ-specific metastasis, prostate carcinoma and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia, orthotopic xenotransplantation of tumors in athymic mice, mechanism of bone metastasis, discovery and evaluation of novel anticancer agents, osteosarcoma, angiogenesis, effect of subcurative therapy on residual disease, development of in vivo cancer models
Gerontology: biological basis for aging and cancer risk, biomarkers of mammalian aging, animal models of aging
Clinical Research Interests: musculoskeletal neoplasia, neurologic disease in dogs with cancer, cervical fractures, fibrocartilaginous embolic disease of miniature schnauzers, spinal cord injury, prognostic factors in dogs with thoracolumbar disc herniation
