Marcela Apuy Martinez was born and raised in San José, Costa Rica. She graduated summa cum laude in Veterinary Medicine from the Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica in 2021. After graduation, she worked for 2 years in a small animal general practice, followed by 1 year in a Clinical Pathology Laboratory in San Jose, Costa Rica. She completed a Clinical Pathology Internship this year at Tuskegee College of Veterinary Medicine and now she is joining Purdue University as a first year Clinical Pathology Resident. Marcela loves cats, enjoys swimming and cooking.
