Dr. Pradip Bajgain is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at Purdue University whose research focuses on developing genetically engineered immune cell therapies for cancer. He earned his PhD in Translational Biology and Molecular Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, where he investigated methods to improve the efficacy of engineered T cell therapies in solid tumors. He completed his postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), where he developed novel chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) targeting solid tumor antigens like B7-H3. At Purdue, Dr. Bajgain is exploring innovative CAR engineering strategies to enhance the safety and potency of CAR-based cell therapies. His lab is also exploring approaches to modulate the tumor-microenvironment using genetically modified T cells to augment the anti-tumor activity of endogenous and ex-vivo engineered immune cells.
