Indiana Pork recently presented awards to individuals who have dedicated time to advancing the swine industry and one of the recipients is well known to Purdue alumni for his career as a swine practitioner. Dr. Jeffrey Harker of Frankfort, Indiana, received the Indiana Pork Industry Meritorious Service Award.
Dr. Harker earned his Purdue DVM degree in 1994 and joined Swine Health Services, now called AMVC, and has worked there as a swine veterinarian ever since. Dr. Harker also is past president of both the Indiana Pork Board of Directors and the American Association of Swine Veterinarians.
Dr. Harker and his wife, Traci, have four children and three grandchildren.
