About
Jennifer Smith is the Clinical Mentorship Coordinator for the Veterinary Technology Distance Learning (VTDL) program. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology from Purdue University and a Master of Science in Higher Education from Purdue University Global. With more than 20 years of experience in small animal practice, research, and academia, she also earned the Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) credential in 2022. Jennifer is passionate about mentoring and inspiring future veterinary technicians and finds her greatest reward in watching students grow into successful professionals. Her dedication to student success and veterinary technology education has been recognized with several honors, including the NAVTA Advisor of the Year Award in 2022 and the Elanco Teaching Excellence in Veterinary Technology Award from Purdue Veterinary Medicine in 2024. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, and reading.
