Even though veterinary school is demanding academically, students are involved in a wide range of extracurricular activities. Students participate in clubs, serve as liaisons, help organize PVM events, and serve in a multitude of leadership positions.

Purdue Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (Purdue SAVMA)

Purdue SAVMA (Student American Veterinary Medical Association) serves as the Purdue student government which works out of the Office of Dean of Student Affairs. Purdue SAVMA serves as the umbrella organization for all PVM student organizations, student liaisons, event chairs, and class representatives.


With a variety of clubs and activities offered to Purdue SAVMA members we're sure you'll find one that fits our individual interests.

Open House

Purdue's College of Veterinary Open House is an annual event held in the spring. It is free and open to the community. It gives PVM students a chance to educate the public about veterinary medicine. Families can visit the petting zoo, watch a horse treadmill demonstration, as well as take hospital tours.

Vet Shoppe
The Vet Shoppe is a partnership between the Indiana Animal Health Foundation and the College of Veterinary Medicine. The Vet Shoppe is a veterinary student run store located in Lynn Hall. All proceeds generated from the sale of veterinary apparel and student supplies are directly reinvested in Purdue Veterinary Medicine student activities.
