Shelter Medicine

The Student Chapter of American Shelter Veterinarians (SCASV) is not only about exposing students to shelter medicine but it is also about being involved in the community.

In the past, we held an adoption for homeless cats in the area at a local PetSmart in partnership with the Feline Club and performed fecals, heartworm tests, and Feline Leukemia/FIV tests at Almost Home Shelter in Lafayette.

Throughout the year we invite guest speakers to speak to us about shelter medicine topics, provide a low-cost vaccine clinic for the Tippecanoe community, host a suturing wet-lab, take pet portrait photos, and more.

Please join us and become a part of this new and emerging club!
