SCACVIM (Internal Medicine)

The Purdue Student Chapter of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (SCACVIM) strives to educate veterinary students about the advanced veterinary specialties of small animal internal medicine, large animal internal medicine, neurology, cardiology, and oncology. Regular case rounds and discussions with faculty, wetlabs with hands on exposure to advanced clinical procedures, and workshops on topics such as client communication and clinical problem solving provide veterinary students with a broad range of knowledge and experience beyond the scope of the typical veterinary school curriculum.

Topics covered in chapter activities have included; case-based problem solving involving a varying disciplines and species, how to prepare for advanced veterinary education education, hands on experience with procedures such as echocardiography, round table discussion with faculty, and much more.

If you are interested in doing a residency in one of the above specialties, or you want to apply and add onto the knowledge you are learning in class, then this club is for you!
