PVM’s Team Neuro Performs Rare Surgery on Prized Pittsburgh Water Rescue Dog

January 29, 2017 | Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - The work of Purdue Veterinary Medicine Associate Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery Tim Bentley and his Team Neuro was featured in a recent newspaper story about a rare spinal surgery performed on an extremely talented water rescue dog from Pittsburgh, Pa. The article by writer David Templeton in the January 29 issue of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette describes a traumatic case involving Anchor, a five-and-a-half-year-old female Leonberger highly trained in the skills needed to rescue distressed humans in water. Anchor was diagnosed as having a tumor of the spinal cord in her lower back, and was referred to PVM’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Read the full story.
