Indiana State Fair Puts PVM on Display

August 14, 2015 - Purdue Veterinary Medicine is in the spotlight at the 2015 Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis, where a large tent on the north side of the fairgrounds houses surgery demonstrations, educational presentations and Indiana State Fair Vet Camp. The surgery demonstrations represent a cooperative effort between the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association. For most of the State Fair’s 17 days, visitors are able to witness surgeries that are needed to prepare Humane Society pets for adoption. The surgeries are offered on a daily basis at 2:00 and 5:00 p.m., except on August 17, 20 and 22, when presentations on animal or medical topics will be given by veterinarians in lieu of the surgery demonstrations.
