PVM Veterinary Practice Management Training Opportunities Abound This Fall

The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine is facilitating greater access to practice management training at the Purdue Veterinary Conference in September and through a student organized Veterinary Business Management Summit scheduled in October.  The Purdue Veterinary Conference has joined forces with the Veterinary Practice Management Program (VPMP), to make it easier for conference attendees who want practice management training to get started on the VPMP certificate program.  For the first time this fall, the VPMP’s Human Resource Management module will start during the Conference. Enroll in the VPMP and attend the Purdue Veterinary Medicine 2015 Conference, September 8 to 12, 2015, at half-price! Contact VPMP@purdue.edu  to receive 1/2 price conference rates.

Developed by Purdue's Krannert School of Management and College of Veterinary Medicine, the VPMP combines more than 25 years of management experience specifically tailored to veterinary practice. It is an intensive, four-module program offering hands-on, graduate-level instruction, and networking for the whole veterinary team. For Purdue Veterinary Conference attendees who want to know more, there will be a special VPMP Human Resource Open House Friday, September 11 from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The event will include a VPMP Overview, Networking Lunch with Participants of VPMP Class #26, a Human Resources class on Motivation and a Q&A session.  Sign up for the VPMP Open House through the Purdue Veterinary Conference registration.  Click here to view a flyer about the VPMP Open House

Purdue veterinary medicine students in the Purdue chapter of the Veterinary Business Management Association (VBMA) are organizing the inaugural VBMA Fall Summit, which will be held October 24-25, 2015, in Lynn Hall.  The weekend conference will bring together veterinary students from six VBMA chapters, along with veterinarians and other veterinary professionals from the Midwest region.  The goal is to increase participants’ business knowledge and skills by bringing in nationally recognized speakers and to bring together like-minded people in order to facilitate networking opportunities and the development of professional relationships with current and future colleagues.

The VBMA Fall Summit will provide six hours of continuing education (CE) credits to veterinarians and veterinary technicians and seven hours of VBMA certificate credit for attendees.  The conference will have three presentations on Saturday followed by a dinner and networking event.  Two more presentations will follow on Sunday.
