Horseman's Forum Draws Record Attendance

May 7, 2014
Despite another day of snowfall during Indiana’s extra-long winter, equine enthusiasts turned out in force for the second Horseman’s Forum at Lynn Hall on February 8. Organized by faculty and staff in the Large Animal Hospital, with the help of Lifelong Learning Director Marti Burns, the event attracted nearly 230 attendees, 200 of which were not affiliated with Purdue University.
The day included talks covering such topics as “Feeding the Senior Horse,” “Bandaging Techniques for Emergencies,” “Moon Blindness and Your Horse” and “Navicular Disease – A Pain in the Heel.” Attendees also were able to see a demonstration of the high-speed Equine Treadmill and tour the Large Animal Hospital. The Forum was sponsored by Nutrena. Additionally, members of the Equine Club nearly sold-out of the Equine First Aid Kits they created as a fund-raiser.
