July 30, 2013

Dr. Timothy Adams (PU DVM ’86) of Martinsville, Ind., was one of nine Purdue College of Agriculture graduates who were awarded the College’s highest honor for alumni this spring.  Dr. Adams’ selection as a College of Agriculture Distinguished Alumnus recognizes him as a mid-career graduate with a record of outstanding accomplishments.

Dr. Adams retired from the U.S. Army as a brigadier general in 2012 after a 33-year military career and since then has served as an independent consultant with MBO Partners.  During his military service, he headed the U.S. Army Public Health Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, and also held positions as commander of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense, the Army's assistant surgeon general for force projection and chief of the Veterinary Corps.
