Dr. Marsh received the award March 5 in Kansas City, Mo., during the forum\u2019s annual business meeting.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBret has transformed the way producers work with government officials on regulatory issues,\u201d said David Newman, National Pork Board president and a producer representing Arkansas. \u201cWhat he was able to do in Indiana, and then transfer to a national level, has not only improved animal health and well-being, but his efforts have elevated the industry\u2019s working relationship with state and federal government agencies.\u201d  Click here to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fKxT6KsvqBw&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"view a video about Dr. Marsh's award (opens in a new tab)\">view a video about Dr. Marsh&#8217;s award<\/a> that includes excerpts of interviews with David Newman and Purdue alumnus and swine practitioner Dr. Max Rodibaugh (PU DVM &#8217;77).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Marsh grew up in rural Indiana and attended Purdue University, where he earned both his bachelor\u2019s degree in animal sciences and his DVM degree.
