{"id":7637,"date":"2020-02-14T12:37:16","date_gmt":"2020-02-14T17:37:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/qa.vet.purdue.edu\/news\/?p=7637"},"modified":"2020-02-14T12:40:11","modified_gmt":"2020-02-14T17:40:11","slug":"purdues-evolved-brand-provides-the-next-giant-leap-for-pvm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/purdues-evolved-brand-provides-the-next-giant-leap-for-pvm.php","title":{"rendered":"Purdue\u2019s Evolved Brand Provides the Next Giant Leap for PVM"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"306\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pt-nextgiantleapLO.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7578\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pt-nextgiantleapLO.jpg 800w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pt-nextgiantleapLO-300x115.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pt-nextgiantleapLO-768x294.jpg 768w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pt-nextgiantleapLO-614x235.jpg 614w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The word is out \u2013 Purdue University has a new look and a new\nframework for sharing its powerful story in a unified voice focused on\nBoilermaker determination and achievements toward building a better world\ntogether.&nbsp; Captured in the phrase,\n\u201cPurdue University, the persistent pursuit of the next giant leap,\u201d is the\nessence of the new branding that officially launched January 30.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evolved from the highly successful 150<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary\ncelebration theme of \u201cTake Giant Leaps,\u201d the new branding emphasizes small\nsteps and persistence toward the next giant leap.&nbsp; Visual components include a new logo that\ncombines the widely recognized \u201cMotion P\u201d with the Purdue University wordmark,\nas well as new fonts and a new color palette.&nbsp;\nUnified around the philosophy of what it means to be Purdue University, the\ncolor palette utilizes only shades of gold and black, and makes Athletics Gold,\nnow called \u201cBoilermaker Gold,\u201d Purdue\u2019s primary gold color creating a cohesive\nlook across Purdue Athletics and academics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As important, if not more so, than the visual aspects, are the messaging elements, summarized in the following statement of who we are as an institution \u2013 the \u201cbig idea\u201d that forms the foundation of our brand:&nbsp; \u201cPurdue University is about the persistent pursuit of innovation where people bring their best and learn to build a better world together.\u201d&nbsp; Or, simply put, \u201cPersistent Innovation. Together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Details of the new branding are available on Purdue Office of Marketing and Media\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/brand.purdue.edu\/brand\/\">brand website<\/a>, which addresses everything from brand strategy, to writing style, to visual components and social media.&nbsp; There is no need to discard existing materials.&nbsp; The new branding will be phased in over the coming year as new materials are produced and existing supplies run out, including such items as business cards.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Purdue Email Signature<\/em><\/strong><em><strong> Generator<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing to do right away, however, is to update your email signature to the new brand standard using the new generator available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/brand.purdue.edu\/tools\/email-signature-generator\/\">Purdue Brand website<\/a>. As we are communicating with clients, research collaborators, vendors, colleagues, and students, it\u2019s important that we present a consistent look for the University.&nbsp; As you fill in the forms on the generator, three options will auto-fill your content to the right. Depending on content length, some options may display better than others. &nbsp;Once all the content has been added and you\u2019ve decided which option you like best, click on the option header, right click the highlighted signature, and copy into your email program of choice. In Outlook, go to File &gt; Options &gt; Mail &gt; Signatures, clear the existing content in the signature editor, and paste. In order to keep the text black and gold and eliminate links coming through as blue in color, simply select the link and change the color from \u201cAutomatic\u201d to \u201cBlack, Text 1\u201d.
