During the recognition ceremony held in Lynn Hall, Room 1136, on Tuesday, December 17, Dean Willie Reed individually congratulated staff members who reached key service anniversaries in 2019, and then honored those who recently completed the Center of Excellence for Diversity and Inclusion in Veterinary Medicine Certificate Program, before concluding the program by presenting several Bravo Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cOne of the privileges I have as Dean is recognizing the loyalty of our staff members,\u201d Dean Reed said.&nbsp; Then he called forward staff members celebrating service anniversary milestones in groups according to their years of service.&nbsp; The following individuals were recognized for service anniversaries ranging from 10 to 40 years:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>10 Years of Service<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jim Brown, technical support analyst &#8211; Laptop Program, Department of Veterinary Administration (VAD)<\/li><li>Brenda Dittmar, Small Animal Hospital receptionist, Veterinary Teaching Hospital (<a href=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/hospital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VTH<\/a>)<\/li><li>Theresa Jeffrey, veterinary farm manager, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (<a href=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/vcs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VCS<\/a>)<\/li><li>Abhijit Mukhopadhyay, laboratory research technologist, VCS<\/li><li>Michelle Ruedin, technical support analyst, VAD<\/li><li>Jennifer Smith, Veterinary Nursing instructional technologist, VAD<\/li><li>Linnette White, lead advisor, IU School of Medicine \u2013 West Lafayette (IUSM)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>15 Years of Service<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Danielle Buchanan, Clinical Skills Laboratory manager, VAD<\/li><li>Mary Jayne Downey, business manager, VTH<\/li><li>Valery Patsekin, research scientist, Department of <a href=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/bms\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Basic Medical Sciences<\/a> (BMS)<\/li><li>Susan Xioufaridou, director of alumni relations and special events, VAD<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>20 Years of Service<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>V. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the service anniversary recognition, Dean Reed presented certificates to individuals who completed the Online Certificate Program for Diversity and Inclusion in Veterinary Medicine. \u201cDiversity and inclusion are key components of our College\u2019s values and culture, and I am proud of these individuals for their dedication in promoting a collegial work and learning environment enhanced by diversity,\u201d Dean Reed said.&nbsp; Winners may be recognized in any of four categories:&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Moving the University Forward \u2014 accomplishments\nor contributions that transform or advance university objectives;<\/li><li>Innovation and Creativity \u2014 innovative work or\nsuggestions well beyond standard job requirements that significantly improve\noperational efficiencies or introduce new or improved processes;<\/li><li>Operational Excellence \u2014 extraordinary effort\nduring times of critical departmental need; and,<\/li><li>Fiscal Stewardship \u2014 significant cost saving or\ncost avoidance realized beyond normally expected or established standards.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The recipients were chosen based on nominations submitted for the second\nhalf of 2019, and each received a certificate to display with pride as well as\na cash prize.&nbsp;
