If the benefits of human-animal interactions touted by scholars hold true, then why do veterinarians, who interact with animals every day, suffer from mental health conditions that even the human-animal bond cannot cure? Practical strategies and future research directions for utilizing the human-animal bond to improve the welfare and well-being of both veterinarians and animals alike will be explored in Dr. Ng’s presentation. Dr. Ng’s research interests include the effect of animal-assisted interventions on both humans and animals, enhancement of the veterinarian-client relationship, and assessment of stress and animal welfare.

Attendees must be registered for the VMX conference in order to attend.
