He added a bit of humor with a graphic on a PowerPoint slide explaining that \u201cDOGS CAN\u2019T OPERATE MRI MACHINES BUT CATSCAN.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than 200 attendees enjoyed the Purdue University Horseman\u2019s Forum, which was held February 9, at Lynn Hall.&nbsp; Youth as well as adult horse enthusiasts gathered for a full-day of exceptional educational programming and demonstrations.&nbsp; Designed to educate horse owners and equine industry professionals about current horse health issues, the annual forum included information about essential equine health care topics.&nbsp; Attendees came from across Indiana, as well as Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program included an acupuncture demonstration by Dr.\nJennifer Koziol, clinical assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary\nClinical Sciences, as well as a treadmill demonstration by Dr. Laurent Cou\u00ebtil,\nprofessor of large animal internal medicine and director of the Equine Sports\nMedicine Center.&nbsp; Additionally, Robin\nRidgeway, co-author of the Purdue Extension publication, \u201cUnderstanding the\nHorse Trailer Rig: Steps for Transporting Horses Safely on the Highway\u201d,\npresented a trailer safety demonstration.&nbsp;\nA copy of the publication was provided to Horseman\u2019s Forum participants as\npart of their event registration.&nbsp; Symposium speakers featured Purdue Veterinary\nMedicine faculty and staff, as well as veterinary nurses from outside\npractices.&nbsp; Small animal presentations\nincluded hospice, dentistry, emergency and critical care, anesthesiology, and cardiology.&nbsp; Large animal sessions covered theriogenology,\nanesthesiology, equine asthma, and internal medicine topics.&nbsp; Purdue Veterinary Medicine alumna Alicea\nHowell, RVT, VTS (Behavior), KPA CTP, presented the keynote lecture for\nsymposium attendees entitled, \u201cFear Free Handling \u2013 Veterinary Care for Every\nPatient.\u201d&nbsp; An afternoon communications\nworkshop was also offered as an optional session for symposium attendees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the event gave participants the opportunity to develop their professional networks while interacting with one another and the vendors attending the symposium.&nbsp;
