He added a bit of humor with a graphic on a PowerPoint slide explaining that \u201cDOGS CAN\u2019T OPERATE MRI MACHINES BUT CATSCAN.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"651\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_6382_copy_Waxman_sm-1024x651.jpg\" alt=\"Dr. Waxman presents at the 2019 Horseman's Forum in Lynn Hall\" data-id=\"3736\" data-link=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/img_6382_copy_waxman_sm\" class=\"wp-image-3736\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_6382_copy_Waxman_sm-1024x651.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_6382_copy_Waxman_sm-300x191.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_6382_copy_Waxman_sm-768x488.jpg 768w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_6382_copy_Waxman_sm-370x235.jpg 370w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IMG_6382_copy_Waxman_sm.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>Dr. Sarah Waxman, interim veterinarian with the Veterinary Teaching Hospital\u2019s Equine Community Practice, gave a lecture on wound care.  <\/figcaption><\/figure><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>More than 200 attendees enjoyed Purdue Veterinary Medicine\u2019s annual Horseman\u2019s Forum Saturday, February 9, at Lynn Hall.&nbsp; Youth as well as adult horse enthusiasts gathered for a full-day of exceptional educational programming and demonstrations.&nbsp; Designed to educate horse owners and equine industry professionals about current horse health issues, the annual forum included information about essential equine health care topics.&nbsp; Attendees came from across Indiana, as well as Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program included an acupuncture demonstration by Dr. Jennifer Koziol, clinical assistant professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, as well as a treadmill demonstration by Dr. <a href=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/directory\/person.php?id=12\">Laurent Cou\u00ebtil<\/a>, professor of large animal internal medicine and director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/esmc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Equine Sports Medicine Center<\/a>.\u00a0 Additionally, Robin Ridgeway, co-author of the <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.purdue.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Purdue Extension<\/a> publication, \u201cUnderstanding the Horse Trailer Rig: Steps for Transporting Horses Safely on the Highway\u201d, presented a trailer safety demonstration.\u00a0 A copy of the publication was provided to Horseman\u2019s Forum participants as part of their event registration.\u00a0 The forum also featured lectures on leptospirosis, equine recurrent uveitis, wound care, cardiology, advanced imaging, senior horse nutrition, hoof care, and managing osteoarthritis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Horseman\u2019s Forum was sponsored by Nutrena, Progressive Nutrition, Dechra, Zoetis, and Haygain, which provided prizes for the giveaways and items for goodie bags.\u00a0 Special thanks to the faculty on the Horseman\u2019s Forum Planning Committee, Drs.
