Joanne B. Messick and Rose E. Raskin were invited to Mexico City to present the Annual Bone Marrow Workshop at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Dr. Messick is professor of veterinary clinical pathology in the Department of Comparative Pathobiology and Dr. Raskin is professor emerita in the same department. Approximately 80 participants attended the workshop, which included a combination of introductory lectures about bone marrow aspirate cytology and core biopsy histopathology with platform presentations highlighting characteristic lesions and diagnostic features in a variety of canine and feline bone marrow cases. The sessions were designed to guide participants through a stepwise approach to marrow evaluation, building confidence and encouraging independent case interpretation skills.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="768" height="1024" data-id="34227" src="https://vet.purdue.edu/news/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/20260509_110912-768x1024.jpg" alt="A woman is teaching a group of students in an indoor setting.
