{"id":34024,"date":"2026-05-15T12:14:20","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T16:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/?p=34024"},"modified":"2026-05-15T12:14:21","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T16:14:21","slug":"pvm-faculty-member-is-among-11-purdue-university-teaching-academy-inductees-for-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/pvm-faculty-member-is-among-11-purdue-university-teaching-academy-inductees-for-2026.php","title":{"rendered":"PVM Faculty Member is among 11 Purdue University Teaching Academy inductees for 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Mindy Anderson, PharmD, BS, RVT, assistant dean for Veterinary Technology Programs and clinical associate professor of basic medical sciences, is one of the newest Purdue faculty members to be announced as an inductee into the Purdue University Teaching Academy.&nbsp;&nbsp;The university just announced this week a total of 11 Teaching Academy inductees for 2026, in recognition of their outstanding and scholarly teaching in graduate, undergraduate or engagement programs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Teaching Academy candidates were identified by their individual department or college\/school based upon evidence of excellence in teaching, innovation in teaching methodology, teaching-related service, and scholarship in teaching and learning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Teaching Academy at Purdue strives to bring together the best teaching faculty and graduate students across campus to create a collective voice for teaching excellence. In partnership with the Office of the Provost and the Center for Instructional Excellence, the Teaching Academy sponsors a variety of programs and activities fostering educational creativity, innovation and effectiveness both in and outside the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with Dr. Anderson from the College of Veterinary Medicine, the other newly announced Teaching Academy fellows include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ximena Bernal \u2014 Biological Sciences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abigail Engelberth \u2014 Agricultural and Biological Engineering<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abrar Hammoud \u2014 Technology Leadership and Innovation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alex Isaacs \u2014 Pharmacy Practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>David Nolte \u2014 Physics and Astronomy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jon Rienstra-Kiracofe \u2014 Chemistry<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rachel Tiefel \u2014 Nursing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Natasha Watkins \u2014 Human Development and Family Science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jamie Woodyard \u2014 Pharmacy Practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Michael Zoltowski \u2014 Electrical and Computer Engineering<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The inductees will be formally recognized in the fall at an event hosted by the Office of the Provost.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mindy Anderson, PharmD, BS, RVT, assistant dean for Veterinary Technology Programs and clinical associate professor of basic medical sciences, is one of the newest Purdue faculty members to be announced as an inductee into the Purdue University Teaching Academy.
