{"id":32459,"date":"2026-02-06T12:03:44","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T17:03:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/?p=32459"},"modified":"2026-02-21T17:56:00","modified_gmt":"2026-02-21T22:56:00","slug":"pvm-interview-days-move-college-closer-to-admitting-the-dvm-class-of-2030","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/pvm-interview-days-move-college-closer-to-admitting-the-dvm-class-of-2030.php","title":{"rendered":"PVM Interview Days Move College Closer to Admitting the DVM Class of 2030"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After a total of three afternoons dedicated to conducting in-person interviews with 226 prospective veterinary students, the Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine is close to completing the process of admitting 84 members of the incoming first-year DVM class \u2013 the Class of 2030.&nbsp;&nbsp;The students invited for the interview days were selected from a total pool of 1,930 applicants from across the country as well as countries abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Held in November and January, the interview days gave each visiting student and parent or other guest a chance to see the college first-hand, meet faculty and staff, and interact with current veterinary students.&nbsp;&nbsp;At the same time, the college\u2019s Admissions Committee members benefitted from the opportunity to meet and talk with applicants in person.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each interview day agenda included a welcome from Dean Bret Marsh, opportunities to learn about student clubs and study abroad programs, meet the college\u2019s popular Canine Educators, take tours of the college, and hear from a student panel.&nbsp;&nbsp;The day concluded with a reception in the Veterinary Medical Library where the prospective students and guests were able to visit in a casual setting with faculty and current DVM students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the first interview day Friday, November 21, 90 invited Indiana resident students visited the college.&nbsp;&nbsp;On the other two interview days, Friday, January 23, and the following Friday, January 30, a total of 136 non-residents visited Lynn Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_8390-copy1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"A group of young adults stand smiling, wearing blue clothes.\" class=\"wp-image-32462\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.4992888417882142;width:800px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_8390-copy1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_8390-copy1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_8390-copy1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_8390-copy1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_8390-copy1-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_8390-copy1-1320x880.jpg 1320w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_8390-copy1-scaled.jpg 1300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">PVM student ambassadors Lillianne Shockley and Jenna Boha, of the Class of 2027, along with fellow interview day student volunteers Rachel Dunlap, Mason Tipton, and Taryn Martin, all of the Class of 2029.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Lori Stout, the college\u2019s senior director of admissions and student success, praised PVM student ambassadors Jenna Boha, Lilly Shockley, and Stephanie Dijak, of the DVM Class of 2027, for their work to plan, organize, and lead the interviewee experience. \u201cThey did a great job of creating an awesome experience for our guests,\u201d Stout said. \u201cWe received many sincere thanks from the students and guests who shared how much the experience meant to them and helped them get to know the college, its personnel, and current students, and how valuable that personal experience is in deciding between colleges.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/IMG_8401-copy1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Students pose for a photo with a man wearing a black suit, positioned o the left side of the photo.
