{"id":32171,"date":"2026-01-09T11:50:09","date_gmt":"2026-01-09T16:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/?p=32171"},"modified":"2026-01-09T11:50:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T16:50:11","slug":"purdue-veterinary-technology-program-distance-learners-celebrate-graduation-at-lynn-hall-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/purdue-veterinary-technology-program-distance-learners-celebrate-graduation-at-lynn-hall-ceremony.php","title":{"rendered":"Purdue Veterinary Technology Program Distance Learners Celebrate Graduation at Lynn Hall Ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>December marked a major milestone in the lives of 15 Purdue Veterinary Technology Distance Learning Program (VTDL) students who graduated as members of the Class of 2025.\u00a0\u00a0In conjunction with Purdue University\u2019s Winter Commencement ceremonies, the College of Veterinary Medicine held its traditional Veterinary Technology Graduation Celebration in Lynn Hall December 21, when the new Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology Degree recipients were honored and recited the Veterinary Technician Oath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The VTDL program is Purdue\u2019s largest online degree program.&nbsp;&nbsp;The December graduates included students from Indiana and across the U.S. as well as one from Sweden.&nbsp;&nbsp;A total of ten graduates &#8211; two-thirds of the VTDL\u2019s December degree candidates \u2013 attended the Graduation Celebration and Oath Ceremony in Lynn Hall with family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is my privilege to welcome all of you to our Purdue Veterinary Medicine Winter Graduation Celebration honoring our Veterinary Technology Graduates,\u201d Dean Bret Marsh said as he began the program.&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cIt is wonderful that we can be together today to recognize our Class of 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"613\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/25oath_040-1024x613.jpg\" alt=\"Two women are exchanging an item in front of a group of graduating students. I accept my obligations to practice my profession conscientiously and with sensitivity, adhering to the profession\u2019s Code of Ethics, and furthering my knowledge and competence through a commitment to lifelong learning.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>A hearty round of applause followed, after which Dean Marsh returned to the podium to offer his congratulations.&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cYou\u2019ve come from across our country to be a part of this graduation exercise,\u201d Dean Marsh said.&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cYou\u2019ve come with family and friends who have supported you throughout this process, so my sincere congratulations to you all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"979\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/25oath_114-1024x979.jpg\" alt=\"The top of a graduation cap that is decorated in a floral pattern and reads &quot;It's a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together.
