It\u2019s official \u2013 this year\u2019s Purdue United Way Campaign<\/a> is underway and the College of Veterinary Medicine has set its sights on raising $20,000 toward the University\u2019s collective United Way fundraising goal of $700,000.  \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to share that, thanks to a quick start on giving by members of our college, we\u2019ve already raised $2,212 toward our PVM goal,\u201d said Angela Pickett, PVM executive assistant to the dean and the college\u2019s United Way Champion.  But she adds, \u201cWe need your help!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pickett emphasized that participating as a supporter is about more than a number.  \u201cIt\u2019s a lifeline to our neighbors,\u201d Pickett said.  \u201cEvery dollar you give stays local, funding programs and services that strengthen Greater Lafayette and surrounding communities. This year\u2019s theme is \u2018Local Giving. Lasting Impact.\u2019<\/em> That\u2019s a great reminder that our collective efforts transform lives right here where we live and work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pickett adds that the Purdue United Way Campaign rests on the idea that giving is personal, so peoples\u2019 responses are meaningful, whether they choose to give or to simply indicate that they do not wish to give.  Either response counts in favor of PVM\u2019s participation in the effort.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
