Kylee Reinhardt.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recognition and appreciation were emphasized this week in Lynn Hall as the College of Veterinary Medicine celebrated Veterinary Nursing Week (known nationally as Veterinary Technician Week).&nbsp; The college hosted daily events to show appreciation for the important role that veterinary nurses play as vital members of the veterinary team.&nbsp; Across the college, people were encouraged to take time this week to say thank you to PVM\u2019s veterinary nurses, whether in clinics, labs, or the classroom, and to reflect on their significant skills and tireless efforts that are so important in providing excellent, compassionate veterinary care for animals.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_5739-copy1a-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"Veterinary nurses and veterinary assistants turned-out in force for the Thanks a \u201cHole\u201d Bunch donuts and coffee event hosted by the college in honor of Veterinary Nursing Week October 14-18.\" class=\"wp-image-25135\" style=\"width:474px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_5739-copy1a-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_5739-copy1a-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_5739-copy1a-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_5739-copy1a-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_5739-copy1a-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_5739-copy1a-1320x880.jpg 1320w, https:\/\/vet.purdue.edu\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/IMG_5739-copy1a-scaled.jpg 1300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Veterinary nurses and veterinary assistants turned-out in force for the Thanks a \u201cHole\u201d Bunch donuts and coffee event hosted by the college in honor of Veterinary Nursing Week October 14-18.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fun activities were scheduled throughout the week for the veterinary nurses and veterinary assistants, beginning with the \u201cThanks a \u2018Hole\u2019 Bunch Donuts and Coffee\u201d session bright and early Tuesday morning, October 15.\u00a0 Wednesday brought an afternoon event called, \u201cYou\u2019re the Coolest!\u201d \u2013 featuring, of course, ice cream treats.\u00a0 Then, on Thursday, the Veterinary Nursing Student Organization (VNSO) sponsored and hosted an event that included adorable treats and a T-shirt give-away.\u00a0 The week-long celebration concludes today, Friday, October 18, with \u2019You are Our Heroes\u201d Subway Sandwiches, which are being provided until 1:30 p.m.\u00a0 All of the events have taken place in the connecting hallway linking Lynn Hall with the David and Bonnie Brunner Purdue Veterinary Medical Hospital Complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The college also promoted the special week on social media by spotlighting PVM veterinary nurses and the great work they do.&nbsp; \u201cOur college is extremely proud of our talented veterinary nurses who work tirelessly, whether they are providing excellent veterinary care, teaching, or supporting scientific discovery,\u201d said Dr. Kathy Salisbury, interim dean.&nbsp;
